I will photograph Star Wars weddings any day, forever.
Dollard is one of my best friends, and has been for many years.
So it came as no surprise when he told me that he planned
to ask the love of his life to marry him.
What shocked me, though, is when he simultaneously asked me to be a groomsman, AND if I would be willing to photograph their wedding if she said yes!
After suffering a near-heart attack and subsequently explaining to him that I would literally need to break off into two people to undertake both extremely important roles, I asked which role was more important to him that I fill, should his proposal go the way he hoped.
He asked that I be the person to document that most important day of their lives.
How on earth could I refuse such an honour?
Of course I said yes.
So did she.
But wait! There’s more!
These two are such insanely awesome Star Wars nerds that they GOT MARRIED ON STAR WARS DAY. And let me tell you — It. Was. Amazing.
Dollard and Reeshan were married at Maple Meadow Events, which is the most adorable farm outside of Port Colborne, Ontario. The barn was renovated to become an event space, and there is nothing but greenery, horses, and endless fields as far as the eye can see.
Based on the couple’s energy around each other, the smiles on their faces, and the love in their eyes for each other, I have no doubt in my mind that they will rule the galaxy for as long as they may live.
