Once Upon A Time
In far away places where evil dwells and toils
Lay shadows of man, resplendent, brave and true
And within his heart remaining thus unsoiled
There sings of stories told, of love in bloom
Beyond the means of love, not grief, but pain
Towards echoes of loss, untold, concealed;
There’s yearning there, in spades, in turn again,
The shadows hide what courage’d thus reveal
A primal scream, a wish so bravely spoke
That demons fiercely hide what light should touch
Who knew that cries so strong could be awoke
From dark to light, emotions say so much.
To overcome – a task – a fight to win
By heav’n, or fire, or both, in spite of sin.
