It’s so good to have a working site again.
I struggled for a long time trying to get this site working on Wordpress, but the time came that I just had to give up the ghost and go to a service that would actually allow me to do what I wanted to do with my images and my work - namely, sell them through a shop on my website, use Stripe and Paypal to guarantee purchaser safety, and get some images into a store that people might like to decorate their homes with. I didn’t think it was such a tall order, but apparently Wordpress did.
So, despite our difference in politics, thank you Squarespace for getting me back on my feet.
I’m not generally very good at keeping up on blogs, but I’m going to try really hard this time.
With that in mind, here are some projects I’m working on!
I’m doing more work related to social justice from the lens of photojournalism and activism. I’m going to be photographing the Women’s Memorial March on Friday, February 14th in downtown Vancouver, and I can’t wait to show you all what comes of that.
I’ve finally had the means to pick up a bunch of rolls of black-and-white film, and I’m going to be starting up my mental illness photography project soon. I think at this stage it will just be people who want to volunteer for it as opposed to a paid gig (because honestly, money is hard to come by right now), but I’m looking for arts grants that will allow me to explore this project over a longer period
I’m also working on a project about post-capitalism and its effects in a metropolitan area (namely, Vancouver). I’m in the planning stages of this one, but I can’t wait to get it off the ground.
Lastly, I have a LOT of scanning to do! Now that I have a scanner I’m going to be digitizing a bunch of my film work so that you all can have a look at it. :)
I hope everyone’s doing well, but my stomach has decided that it’s motivated for food, so off I go!
